10 Holiday Hostess Gift Ideas

The holiday season is fast approaching, and part of the fun during this time of year is attending the wonderful holiday parties. Whether it’s your work party or a party thrown by friends, it’s a great time to get together, eat and drink, laugh and catch-up. But don’t come to the party empty handed. Show your appreciation to the host or hostess by bringing a gift. As you can see from our suggestions, this gift does not have to break the bank.
  1. Homemade Breads: For the bakers out there, whip together some mini-homemade pumpkin or banana bread. Wrap them in holiday decorations and you’ll have a lovely and delicious gift.

  2. Authentic Maple Syrup: When we think of the holiday season, visions of snow filled days in Vermont come to mind. Bring a little piece of Vermont with you to the party by giving your host some real Vermont maple syrup. They’ll love it with their pancakes the morning after the party.

  3. Pumpkin Pie Spice: Who doesn’t enjoy pumpkin spice on everything during the winter months?

  4. Decorative Wine Bottles: Have a few empty wine bottles lying around? Decorate them in fun ways and present your pieces of art as gifts. You could even paint them in chalkboard paint and add cool designs like these bottles.

  5. Good Morning Gift Basket: Put together a basket of morning goodies, coffee, tea, OJ, and muffins. Your hosts can enjoy them the morning after the long party.

  6. Coffee Table Books: These types of books are great conversation and decorative pieces. No living room is complete without one.

  7. Moleskine Journal: For the hosts that love to write, buy them the Rolls-Royce of journals.

  8. Homemade Peppermint Bark: Put all the candy canes you’ve received to good use and make some homemade peppermint bark.

  9. Olive Oil: Instead of buying a bottle of wine, purchase a nice bottle of extra virgin olive oil for your hostess. The varieties from Spain, Italy and Greece are especially good.

  10. Hot Cocoa Mix with Marshmallows: Visit your local chocolate shop and pick up some quality hot cocoa and marshmallows. This lovely treat goes perfectly with a warm fire and a book.

What types of gift have you given to hosts in the past? Have you received some you especially enjoyed? Share your favorites in the comments below!
